We are Audubon Certified!

Woodfield Manor is a proud member of the Audubon At Home Bird Habitat network. Audubon Pennsylvania recognizes properties who pledge to provide a healthy habitat that supports birds, butterflies and other wildlife. We do this through a variety of initiatives.

  • Native Trees: Woodfield Manor has long enjoyed a plethora of native trees including White Pines, Norway Spruce, Red Oaks, White Oaks, Grey Birch, Sugar Maples and Red Maples.
  • Native Shrubs & Herbaceous Perennials: Since Fall 2014, many native shrubs and herbaceous perennials have been introduced. Perennials provide nectar in the summer and seeds in the fall, attracting birads and a variety of insects that our feathered friends love. Some include ox-eyed sunflowers, cardinal flowers, Virginia Bluebells and Virginia Mountain mints.
  • Hummingbird & Butterfly Garden: We have introduced a hummingbird and butterfly garden with a renovated septic field, nourishing it from bare ground to its peak growth.
  • And more: We have been introducing ferns in the wooded areas, grasses in open areas and native flowering shrubs like rhododendron, mountain laurel and native hydrangeas around the cottages.

We take pride in continuing our efforts to increase our property's ecological value.
